The Jordan Pharmacists Association (JPA)

The Jordan Pharmacists Association (JPA) was founded in 1957 to serve and represent pharmacists and the pharmacy profession in Jordan. The JPA works closely with the Ministry of Health, regulatory bodies, authorities and other professional associations to assure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care and services to the Jordanian population. The JPA aims to assure the development of the pharmacy profession, encourage scientific research, and regulate and develop pharmacy practice and services. One of the JPA’s top priorities is to protect and advocate pharmacists’ rights and best interests throughout different stages of their professional lives.

Following the 2018 World Health Organization Astana Declaration on Primary Health Care, the global imperative for further developing pharmacy’s place in primary health care has never been stronger. FIP works with its partners and members to bring together leaders and professionals across all regions of the world to progress this imperative. A conference, “Envisioning the future together: Transforming pharmacy for better primary health care”, was held in Amman, Jordan on 25–26 April 2019, which was FIP’s first regional conference, organised jointly with the JPA and supported by the Eastern Mediterranean Regional Pharmaceutical Forum.
