Turkish Pharmacists’ Association (TPA – Turk Eczacilari Birligi (TEB) in Turkish), established by Turkish Pharmacists Association Law in 1956 and recognized by the Turkish Constitution as a professional organization with governmental body feature, with its head office in Ankara, Turkey. TPA is serving 54 chambers of pharmacies, covering all cities in Turkey, and represents 37,643 pharmacists nationally (2021 numbers).
Building on its successful Regional Conference for the Eastern Mediterranean Region in April 2019, the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) continued to implement the Declaration of Astana on primary health care, with the ultimate goal of achieving universal health coverage. From 23 to 25 October 2019 in Ankara, Turkey, FIP and TPA gathered key pharmacy stakeholders, leaders and partners from Europe and beyond in Ankara, Turkey ― where pharmacy began with Galen and Dioscorides centuries ago and organized the FIP Regional Conference for the European Region; “Delivering primary healthcare: Pharmacists taking the next leap forward”. Participants of the conference embarked on the journey towards healthier populations through stronger primary health care and position pharmacists as one of the most effective providers of primary health care across the European Region, leaving no one behind.
